The Supreme Court of Justice was building in
downtown and it was building for the architect Antonio Muñoz García and opened
in 1941. It´s a very awesome building, it has 7, 488 square meters. His facade
has a big bronze door with 3 tons weight with sculptures of Ernesto Tamariz.
Since building was open, it has become an
art´s gallery because in lobby there is an important Jose Clemente Orozco´s
mural. This work is a very strong review of power and government.
We recommend Rafael Cauduro´s mural, called 7
greater crimes. They are crimes that power commit or power´s allow. In an
interview Cauduro, he said that this work is about “why injustice existence”
and it is a reflection about crime and justice´s mistakes. Cauduro use various
novel tecniques in this work, use painting of glass, relif with material´s
various. Cauduro achieves terrible scenes with hyper-realistic style.
The perspective created by Cauduro, expand
the space of the wall to the other dimensions, accentuating the drama and
hopeless of the scenes.
You can see various artist´s murals and
observe differents techniques about same topic. The problem is that you can´t
take pictures, but you can enjoy a lot the travel.
The Supreme Court of Justice building is in
Pino Suarez Street #2, Col Centro, the entry is free, all days.
